Being a 3D Printer owner…
Well, first, I never thought I’d be one. And, it has become my biggest and proudest hobby. I have a Bambu Labs P1S + AMS combo. Best investment in my design work, yet!

My first prints:
I printed 6 brackets (in black) to make this slender table just a touch taller!
I wrote about creating this pumpkin:
I was given the oppoportunity at my job to write a blog post about creating this pumpkin and a render in SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS Visualize (https://www.goengineer.com/blog/jack-o-lantern-design-using-solidworks-and-visualize).
Almost immediately after my first “practical” print, I printed this one:
The random prints:
They’re all prints that mean something to me in some way or another.
Read on the Research topic in my portfolio.
Prints for others:
My good friend asked me to print some fidgets for his Math tutoring business - Kirk’s Tutoring (https://kirkstutoring.com/)
The tiles have textured edges for sensory stimulation and a magnet printed within - can stick to whiteboards, refrigerators, and other tiles!
The Filament Rack:
When I first bought my printer, I only had a few spools of filament, and I’d find myself not able to keep track of what I had and what I didn’t; hence, the doubles/multiples.
I made 4 3D-printed PVC pipe hooks, customized to fit my whiteboard (for reminders, like, ‘Do your taxes..’) and bought a 10-foot PVC pipe, hack-sawed it in half, sanded the ends, placed the 1 kg-each spools on each pole, and placed them on the rack.
I made sure that the entire whiteboard would not lose balance, by placing the hooks on opposite sides of the whiteboard.
I think it turned out well!
